The Colony Review

Welcome to another DragonLance Saga review episode. It is Kirinor, Frostkolt the 27th. The short story, The Colony by Richard Knaak, focuses around Kaz and his followers leaving Nethosak to find a new homeland. They don’t want to remain so close to the Blood Sea Minotaur Kingdom as a future emperor would try to reincorporate them into the empire. So they set sail for the unknown eastern Corrain ocean. The trouble with the short story is that it’s short. Much of it is taken up by reintroducing characters for the sake of those readers who haven't read every short story or novel featuring Kaz. While I appreciate it, I feel like it was largely wasted as much of the information dump had little or no bearing on the actual content of the short story.

So they come across an unknown island that has an abandoned colony.
