1. Kids/Work/Finances
Exodus 20:3 - You must not have any other god but me.
Question 1: Are our kids, my work, our finances, becoming more important than our marriage? If so, why?
Question 2: What are the 2 things I can do this week to begin to make my marriage more important?
Next Step: Ask a longtime married couple.
2. Past Relationships
Ephesians 4:31-32 - Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
Question 1: How are my past relationships affecting my present marriage?
Question 2: After reading Ephesians 4, what do I need to let go of, or work on, because of my past relationships that are hurting my marriage today?

3. Expectations
Genesis 2:24 - This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife in such a way that the two become one person.
Matthew 20:21 - “In your Kingdom, please let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.”
Matthew 20:28 - “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Philippians 2:3-4 - Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
Question 1: What are the expectations I have for my marriage right now?

4. Family of Origin

Question 1: What negative things from my family of origin do I need to set aside?
Question 2: What can I do to separate myself from my family of origin so I can focus on my marriage?
