2023 was his firstyear as a Head Coach and he reflected a lot and his first year.
He spoke about changing clubs to enhance his coaching career and transitioning from player to coach shortly after he finished playing.
He spoke about how he uses player led feedback during his session .

Hedge is the Director of Rugby at IRAA.
He coached Sydney Uni to a victory in the Shute Shield in 2022 and was also named joint Shute Shield coach of the year the same year.
He has also coached extensively in Japan as well as Bond Uni and the Melbourne Rebels.
During our chat we spoke about Flexibility of thought during your coaching and what are the Big Pocks for you and your team.

He also spoke about learning from other coaches as well as coaches in other sports.
This week's guest is Rhys Thompson.
Rhys was the Head Coach at Hills Rugby Club in Division 2 of the Sydney Sub Districts Competition.
During our chat we spoken about going straight from playing to coaching at the same club.
How we should be focused on the process not the outcome and how little control we actually have on the players once they take the field.
We also spoke about players wanting to compete, whoch helps with thier learning.

During our chat Gavin spoke about condensing the 2nd training session of the week so that he can review the content that was covered during the first session to accommodate players that were unable to attend the first session.
He spoke about falling out of the game for a period of time, due to outside influences.
We chatted about using games at training to help player learning.
He spoke about being honest with players around feedback and that the player may not like the feedback but it needs to be honest.
He also briefly discussed the new below sternum Tackle Law that is being introduced and how he had to re-coach tackle tech to his players.

Originally from Scotland and now living in London for the past 2 years.
He is currently the forwards coach of Hitchen Mens team; he is also coaching at Fernhill School as well as being involved in the Saracens DPP pathway for U15 and U16 players.
He began coaching in 2003 while playing rugby in Canada.
During our conversation we spoke about coaching fundamentals to kids, how we should be always learning as growing as coaches, to help our players grow and learn. How to change the coaching conditions to keep training fresh and exciting.
We spoke about his 3 Error rule when looking at giving feedback to player.
