Hello Everyone, Welcome back to another episode of The Geeky Pod.

In continuation of the last episode, this is 2nd part of the discussion on The Journey of a Software Engineer.  
If you haven't listened to the first episode, I recommend you to go and listen to that first.


A software developer is someone who knows about softwares and their end to end life cycle. In order to achieve that a person has to go through various phases in one's life starting from degree and then finally placement of job.  

In this episode I am joined by two of my friends and fellow software Engineers ; Mr Sumit Kumar and Mr Monu Mishra. We discussed about various burning topics in the Industry at this moment viz. job cuts, automation, Work from home, Job bubble, job market currently and many more.

  1. In the IT industry, there is a looming Recession and Job cuts. What do you think about those job cuts? Is it just a cost cutting activity or recession is on the way.
  2. Covid 19 pandemic has impacted most of the Industries in India and around the world. But IT industry was not at all disturbed by that.
    3. Rather the production rate and delivery margin increased. Why do you think that happened?
  3. So pandemic has taught us about Remote Working. We have done Work from Home for more that 2 years. What do you think the long term sustainability for this Remote working mode?
  4. Which one do you prefer? WFH or WFoffice?
  5. Last two years, The IT industry has seen mass resignations and the Attrition rate went sky high in India and around the world. That gave rise to Huge jump in Salaries for New recruits? Why do you that happened?
  6. Do you think now that we are at the end of 2022 and 2023 is almost there. This Job Bubble is still there?
  7. What will be the aftermath of this Bubble burst?
  8. What is the IT Job market right now in India ? Your Opinion
  9. Do you think there will be Job cuts and re hiring in India like the way it started in US.
  10. Every 4-5 years the technology is changing. First it was Struts framework, then Came Spring, Then there is MEAN stack, MERN stack. What do you think is more important? Should we learn new tech as soon as it arrives to keep ourself upgraded?
  11. How to adapt to a new Work culture? Once we switch from one company to another, initially it is difficult. So how to adjust?
  12. What major change do you think will come in the next 5 years in the IT Industry?
  13. What difference do you see when you work in a Startup or in a Product Company and in a Service based company?
  14. One advice that you want to give to the freshers, who is just starting out!
