In this entry, I'm unpacking a pattern I find myself in constantly: navigating the 'friend zone' and trying to be okay with accepting a platonic connection because I value the person too much to lose them. But it brings up a tough question: is that connection healthy for me, or is it doing more harm than good?
I'm also working through a task assigned by my therapist this week. Instead of waiting for my Tuesday sessions to process everything, the goal is to practice using active 'I feel' statements with the people in my real life. It's a challenge, especially when you carry the constant anxiety of feeling like a hindrance, a nuisance, or an annoyance to those around you.
Two years after a breakup, I'm still trying to find my footing and get back to who I was before the relationship. This is a raw look at trying to speak my truth without the fear of losing the people closest to me.
