What's so special about the Snyder cut?

 Differences from the theatrical version  While the basic framework of the story is the same, dozens of additional scenes, backstories, mythos, worldbuilding elements, new characters, and teases for upcoming films are present in Snyder's version but not the theatrical release.   

Why was Zack Snyder cut from Justice League? When director Zack Snyder and his producing partner and wife, Deborah Snyder, stepped down from the film after the death of their daughter, "Avengers" director Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the movie. Whedon reportedly used 10% of Snyder's footage in the 2017 cut.  

 Did they do reshoots for the Snyder cut? In order to finish his version of the film, Snyder did three days of reshoots and added additional VFX work. None of the footage that was shot by Joss Whedon is included in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and despite the reshoots, only a few minutes of extra footage was shot for this new take.
