In which the Tartar chieftain Feofar-Khan, advised by his lieutenant Ivan Ogareff, prepares to move his troops towards the important city of Tomsk, while prisoners, including two foreign correspondents and an old woman named Marfa Strogoff, endure a harsh march under strict guard. Amidst this grim journey, a young girl named Nadia silently offers comfort to Marfa, and through their growing sympathy, the bonds of a mysterious shared destiny begin to reveal themselves.
