The Jungle Book

Mowgli will be spared! The boy, or "man cub" will live and be taught by Baloo the Bear to live with the wolves AND by the Laws of the Jungle.

As the baby boy Mowgli is presented to the Council of Wolves, some wish him dead and some wish him banished; but at the very last moment, two friends from outside the Wolf Council, Bagheera the Panther and Baloo, the sleepy brown bear, rescue the child.

Shere Khan demands Mowgli to be turned over to him. It is Shere Khan's destiny, so he believes, to hunt Mowgli down and kill him for food; but Mowgli, a few of his friends and the power of fire may defend him from Shere Khan's threat and thereby save his own life.

Mowgli has learn from Bagheera the Panther that Mowgli is truly a man's cub: a man's child; and does not belong in the jungle as the rest of his jungle friends do. Bagheera confesses that, in time, his dear friend Mowgli, now a young boy, must leave the beautiful jungle behind and return to his own people: the tribe of men.

Bagheera discovers a way to protect Mowgli from the angry wolves at The Wolf Council as well as Mowgli's most dangerous jungle enemy, Shere Khan the Tiger, but Bagheera's plan is hazardous and may put his best friend, Mowgli, in great danger!

Brave Mother Wolf defends her newly adopted "man-cub" Mowgli from the Tiger, Shere Khan, who wants to kill the small child. Mother Wolf stands up to Shere Khan and, shocked by her bravery, Shere Khan retreats from their cave.

Rudyard Kipling's wonderful novel continues as Father Wolf discovers the abandoned brown and naked child, or "man's cub," Mowgli.

We have now moved forward more than ten years and Mowgli is nearly twelve years old. Though Bagheera the Panther loves and protects young Mowgli, Shere Khan continues to stock and plot against the man-cub.

The time has arrived when Mowgli must defend himself and his jungle friends from members of the Wolf Council and fierce Shere Khan. If successful, Mowgli must then decide: will he stay in the jungle where he is loved, but under threat and out of place, or finally return to the company of men?
