The week between Christmas and New Year’s can feel strangely light, and in this episode of The Just Because Diaries, I’m unpacking why. I talk about the seasonal mental load of the holidays, the relief that comes when it finally lifts, and the unexpected discovery of an Irish tradition that made that feeling make so much sense.

We talk about holiday stress, invisible labor, and the mental load of motherhood — and how normalized it’s become to carry all of it without even realizing it.
