Today Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh,  who has been in news several times in the last one year especially with regards to the way investigations were happening in the Sushant Singh death case, was removed as police chief and replaced by Hemant Nagrale. 

This is the biggest fallout so far of a snowballing investigation against Mumbai police officer Sachin Waze, who was arrested last week by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a car with explosives found near the home of Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man.

Parambir Singh is gone but several questions remain.

In India, our womenfolk face considerable gender biases and are subsequently more likely to experience disadvantages in their lives, especially when it comes to healthcare. Many times they neglect their own health while taking care of their families. It is time we tell them that our families start with them and that they come first for us.

It is times we tell them we care. Our women need all our care.

As per a report just released, as many as 85 percent of working women in India have said they missed out on a raise, promotion or work offer because of their gender compared to the average of 60 percent in the Asia-Pacific region. The LinkedIn Opportunity Index 2021 said that more women in India have experienced the impact of gender on career development when compared to the APAC region.

More than 7 in 10 working women and working mothers feel that managing familial responsibilities often come in their way of career development.

International Women's Day, which is on March 8th, is dedicated to celebrating women's achievements in the social, economic, cultural, and political spheres. This year, #ChoosetoChallenge is the theme, with a call to action for all to step up and challenge inequity.

This International Women's Day lets #ChoosetoChallenge to bring positive change into our workplaces.

India's premier anti-drugs agency Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed the charge-sheet in a special court in Mumbai in its drugs angle case related to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput last year on Friday. The over 12,000-page charge-sheet has named 33 people, including actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant's house help and several drug peddlers in the case. The voluminous document has statements of over 200 witnesses.

The statements of Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan are part of the charge-sheet filed by NCB, as per media reports. 

Now, this fresh development has brought back Sushant's case back into sharp national focus. Also, this will reveal more on the drug menace in Bollywood and the country.

If we really want to do something for our womenfolk then we have to take the water scarcity head-on.

In India, more than 600 million people are facing an acute water shortage. About three-quarters of households do not have a drinking water facility. Currently, India ranks 120th among 122 countries in the water quality index. 

The biggest brunt of water scarcity is on children and women. In Indian, many women for centuries have done the work of fetching water from rivers, ponds, wells and doing so even today. Something massive needs to be done to solve this problem which is such a basic thing for living.

If we really want to have a meaningful International Women's Day let's empower our womenfolk by freeing them from this bondage of water scarcity.
