So why is it still so hard to hit record?

We talk about perfectionism disguised as preparation, the imaginary critic in our heads, why comparing our first 100 reps to someone else’s 10,000 is a losing game, and why confidence may not be something we need before we begin.

Because the message can’t help anybody while it’s sitting inside our head.

What does the Southern saying “You don’t believe fat meat greasy” really mean?

Some of the greatest lessons I ever learned didn’t come from a classroom. They came from my grandmother.

One of her favorite sayings was:

“You don’t believe fat meat greasy.”

For years, I thought she was talking about food. She wasn’t. She was talking about the tendency we all have to ignore wisdom until experience forces us to believe it.
