"The most beautiful race course in America" once stood where the Latonia Shopping Center is today. Filmmaker Cam Miller joins RCN's Michael Monks to talk about his new documentary, "Old Latonia", an in-depth look at the history that attracted elites, presidents, and the finest horses in the land.

From a resurgent downtown to a forthcoming riverfront development project to a new initiative to attract businesses to Latonia, it's a great time to be in Covington. That's according to the city's development manager, Geoff Milz, who is celebrating a year at City Hall. He joins RCN's Michael Monks to talk about why he thinks he got here at just the right time.

He was a Governor's Scholar in 1995 and housed at Northern Kentucky University. Now, more than 20 years later, Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear was back in Highland Heights visiting this year's batch of scholars. He also dropped off a big check to help addiction recovery in the region, and chatted with RCN's Michael Monks in this podcast.

We explore the partnership between the Covington Police and the Center for Great Neighborhoods in improving the quality of life in Covington.

The neighborhoods of Wallace Woods, Levassor Park, Austinburg, and Helentown are collectively asking the City of Covington to approve a small area study on many issues facing them all, particularly the role and potential expansion of social services.

Sullivan University hopes to fill a need that it sees in Northern Kentucky.

The Louisville-based institution that also has a campus in Lexington announced recently that it is open in Ft. Mitchell, too.

This spring, Sullivan signed articulation agreements with four high schools for Sullivan’s world-renowned culinary arts program. Students in food-science curriculum in their high schools can receive up to 24 hours of credit toward the associate degree in culinary arts upon entering the program upon graduation. Currently, Grant County High School, Williamstown High School, Campbell County High School, and Highland High School are participating. While culinary arts programs will not be offered at the Northern Kentucky Center for Learning, the center will support participating students throughout the process.

Sullivan's Northern Kentucky director, Dr. Vicki Berling, joined RCN's Michael Monks to talk about what the university hopes to accomplish and offer in our region.

"Millennials in the Workplace" is the topic of the next "Eggs N Issues" event sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and will focus on how to attract, retain, train, and work with the generation increasingly taking over the workplace.

Strategic Advisors' Pat Crowley moderates and Northern Kentucky University professor Dr. Ryan Salzman will offer a keynote speech. The panel includes The River City News publisher Michael Monks, Fidelity Investments' Dee Dee Miller, and Brent Cooper of C-Forward.

The event is Tuesday, June 21, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Receptions in Erlanger.
