Eastern Kentucky is taking the biggest soaking this morning. Rain and patchy fog hang around through midday with temperatures near 47 degrees. A Flood Advisory stays in effect until 7:30 A.M. For Bell, Harlan, Knox, McCreary. And Whitley counties. Over an inch has already fallen there.

South Central Kentucky sees the rain taper off by 9 A.M. Highs reach 54 degrees with gusts up to 24 miles an hour.

North Central Kentucky gets a quick rain and snow mix between 8 and 10 A.M. Nothing sticks on roads, but bridges could be slick during the morning commute. Highs top out at 51 degrees.

Central Kentucky wraps up the rain by late morning. Partly sunny skies this afternoon with a high near 48 degrees.

Tonight brings clearing skies and temperatures dropping into the low 30s statewide. Patchy fog develops in the valleys.

Friday and Saturday deliver the payoff. Sunny skies, highs in the 60s both days. South Central Kentucky could touch 69 degrees Saturday. That's about 30 degrees above normal for late February.

Here's your week ahead. Sunday night into Monday brings our next system. A cold front stalls over the region, setting up a potential wintry mix. Freezing rain becomes likely Sunday night. North Central Kentucky climbs to 56 degrees around 3 P.M. Quick rain chance around 5 A.M. tomorrow, then it clears out. Central Kentucky peaks at 54 degrees by 3 P.M., but here's the tricky part. Rain slides in between 3 A.M. and 6 A.M. — heaviest around 4 A.M. By 6 A.M. tomorrow morning, it'll feel like 33 degrees. That's a shock to the system.

South Central Kentucky hits 59 degrees by 3 P.M. But tonight? That's where the real soaking happens. Rain from 7 P.M. through 6 A.M. tomorrow, peaking around 3 A.M. If you're near Bowling Green, keep that umbrella close.

Eastern Kentucky gets the weird stuff. Mixed precipitation from 6 A.M. to 10 A.M. today, then temperatures push to 54 degrees around 2 P.M. Winds flip from southeast to southwest around 7 A.M. Rain moves back in tonight with patchy fog tagging along.

Here's your week ahead. Thursday stays cool with lingering showers. Then high pressure sweeps in like a gift. Friday and Saturday? Spectacular. Sunny skies, highs climbing into the 60s. Step outside right now and that wind will find every gap in your jacket. We're at 24 degrees statewide, but here's where it gets interesting. By 7 A.M., the wind flips from northwest to southwest. And suddenly we're racing toward spring. North Central Kentucky hits 45 degrees by afternoon. That's a 20 degree jump in half a day.

Central Kentucky tops out at 42. South Central? You're the warm spot at 48. Eastern Kentucky climbs to 44, but clouds keep it feeling cooler than the number suggests.

Now here's the twist. Tonight's lows only drop to the upper 30s — 39 up north, 40 down south. That's because those southwest winds refuse to quit, gusting to 29 miles an hour. And Eastern Kentucky? You might catch a sprinkle or a stray snowflake between 2 A.M. And 3 A.M. Weather can't decide what it wants to be.

One thing to watch today: that wind drops humidity to 25 percent this afternoon. Any spark could turn ugly fast. If you're thinking about burning brush, don't. Wait until after Thursday's rain.

Speaking of Thursday, that's when the soaker arrives. Widespread rain likely, especially south. Eastern Kentucky could see three quarters of an inch. But then Friday and Saturday? And Pike are staring down 1 to 2 inches of snow.. With wind gusts to 30 miles an hour creating sudden whiteouts. If you're traveling east of I19 degrees today, slow way down. Bridges and overpasses stay icy well into the afternoon.

The rest of us? Dry but **brutal**. Louisville and Lexington bottomed out at 21 degrees, with wind chills near 19 degrees this morning. You'll climb to 34 by 1 PM, then crash back to 22 by 4 AM. Central Kentucky barely touches 31 around 2 PM, with wind chills at 19 degrees this morning. That's the kind of cold that finds every crack in your coat. South Central Kentucky fares slightly better — highs near 35 by 4 PM — but you're still waking up to a feels-like 19 degrees around 6 AM.

Eastern Kentucky sees snow peak around 7 AM, then taper by 4 PM. Temperatures climb from 23 to 34 by 3 PM. Tonight, any lingering snow quits. And lows drop to 23. North Central Kentucky stays windy, with northwest gusts to 22 miles an hour. It'll feel like 11 around 8 AM despite partly sunny skies. Central Kentucky catches a few scattered snow showers before 11 AM, then clears slightly. Lows tonight plummet to 19 — one of the coldest spots statewide.

Here's the good news. Tuesday jumps to the mid-40s. Wednesday night brings soaking rain — up to an inch in the east. By Friday, we're in the 50s. And Saturday? **66 degrees** in South Central Kentucky. Yes, 66. Just days after snow showers.

Eastern Kentucky is getting hit the hardest. Snow showers roll in around 11 A.M. And stick around through early Monday morning. Expect 1 to 2 inches, maybe more in the mountains. You'll start near 35 degrees but drop to 26 by 3 A.M. Winds from the west-northwest make it feel like 17 degrees by morning.

Central Kentucky sees scattered snow showers from 11 A.M. To 5 P.M. Highs barely touch 32 around 3 P.M. By 4 A.M., you're down to 24 degrees, feeling like 19 degrees with the wind chill.

North Central Kentucky stays dry but cold. Highs hit 33 around 3 P.M., then drop to 24 by 4 A.M. Wind chills dip to 19 degrees.

South Central Kentucky also stays dry. You'll reach 34 around 3 P.M., then fall to 22 by 6 A.M. It'll feel like 19 degrees by morning.

Monday stays cold with highs in the 30s statewide. But Tuesday starts a big warm-up. By Wednesday, you're in the 50s. By Saturday? We could hit 60. Rain showers return Thursday and Friday, with thunderstorms possible in the south.

Here's the deal. The state's got a nice little temperature gradient going this morning. Down in North Central, you're waking up to 55 degrees with southwest winds pushing 10 to 15 miles an hour. Head over to Central Kentucky and it's 53 degrees. But those gusts could hit 21 miles an hour. Enough to knock a trash can sideways. South Central is the sweet spot at 57 degrees with gentler breezes. And Eastern Kentucky? You're the warm kid in class at 65 degrees. Perfect morning to drink that coffee on the porch.

Tonight temperatures ease back into the upper 30s to low 40s. Nothing dramatic. Tomorrow you'll rebound right into the mid 50s to low 60s. Another day that has no business being this warm in February.
