The Key

Listen Later

The Key

Every time I stub my toe, or bite my lip while I’m chewing

Pain sprints down my back and stops whatever I’m doing

But it’s nothing like the pain of the memories of those I

lost

Or the heartaches I’ve been through, man they exacted such a cost

So, I gather the worst of the worst and do my best to hide

them away

Write about surviving the storm, and relaxing while enjoying a sunny day

But then the clouds roll back across my sky and blot out the sun

I tremble and quake cause my neat little storage plan has

become undone

And the sparks and the chaos bounce off the inside of my

aching brain

I lose control,  I’m

Choo-Choo Charley driving my very own crazy train

Hold my fears and wring out a glimmer of some of that

everlasting hope

Mama sit beside me, be my blanket; keep me warm baby help me to cope

Shoot that pain in the ass and put a full tank of your

loving touch across me

Make me whole, chase the blues; you know my future is locked but babe you got the key

I said my problems get ahold of me; seems I cannot wrest

myself free

Like Houdini hanging upside down locked in a box in a lake, no sweat babe, you got the key
