When you think of the great prayers in the Bible, perhaps Abraham’s prayer in Genesis eighteen comes to mind. Or maybe Hannah’s prayer or even Moses’ prayer in Exodus 32. But Jesus’ prayer in John seventeen, you’d have to put near the top of the list. The Lord is praying as he prepares for the pain, humiliation and eventual crucifixion. We’re looking at the high priestly prayer of Jesus.
