Hello Everyone Thank You for tuning in! This is episode 17 of FAVOR a wonderful devotional I’ve been reading from the YouVersion Bible App. In this episode the theme is about integrity. The teachers of religious law and the Pharisees were questioning Jesus about things like whether to pay their taxes to Caesar or to pay to God. This discussion was very interesting because the motivation of these questions towards Jesus was to supposedly trick Him. We know that they could not trick Jesus but yet this was exactly what they thought they were doing. We learn in this dialogue that Jesus is the very Word of God as a matter of fact He is God in the flesh which stood among them. Jesus decided to engage with them in order to hopefully get them to think or hopefully get revelation about who He is. These were desperate people who saw Jesus as someone who could take away their pain, Jesus literally had to stop and feed them because they would not eat unless they received His healing, today there are many people who are in the same type of torment, whether it be disease, a handicap, or lack of sight or hearing. We need to continue to pray for those around us who needs healing even today. There are time where God doesn’t always award in His Kingdom position or status but servanthood and considering others above one’s self is the better position. We live in a world that so many achievements and status is looked upon in high regard, but consider what God has to say in the example of the parable He spoke of Matthew 20:1-16. In today’s reading we see that Jesus answers a very important question with a very important answer, “Of all the commandments which is most important?” We know Jesus knew the answer to this question but it is so important for us as children of God to know and to walk in a wonderful example to others through love, and mercy, it’s sometimes hard because our society is very challenging and evil, there are often times we can be hurt or offended by others. But remember always when we are hurt by others Christ was hurt far more greater and Christ while being on the cross prayed to the Father to forgive those who crucified Him and ridiculed and mocked Him to ultimately forgive them. In Jesus’s day, people were always trying to test Him, always trying to find something wrong or accuse Him or His disciples of something. Take a listen to a situation where Jesus teaches us an example of how doing what is right according to the law in that time resulted in Him and His disciples avoiding a possible conflict situation. Some say that out of the heart the mouth speaks this means some are offended and hurt by the words we say especially if they come from a place in our heart that is not godly Jesus describes man sinful condition in the heart which is the soul of man as being wicked full of evil. In the latter part of today’s episode I discuss how we should draw closer to the Lord in order to be more like Him I believe God wants to shape us to be more like Him as we go through this life. The Bible tells us in James 2:14-20 how can we say we have faith when we are not doing anything to show that we do have faith. The Favor of God is connected to obedience which is also connected to us doing something or walking out in a real way that we operate in what we believe in. As we look at our world today many people operate in different ways mostly based on their own set of beliefs. Life can be unpredictable, chaotic, stressful and sometimes down right cruel and unforgiving we need to take time out of our busy schedules to seek the Lord and remember to make God first in your life not “a part” of your life, we cannot put God in a box and decide to take Him our whenever we want to or when it’s convenient for us. It’s important to know that God has paid for us we are now His, we must seek Him and what His desire is for us in our lives so much more than ever. Jesus makes it very clear to His disciples that if this world hated Him then the world will hate you even more. The attachment to this world will make us ineffective to be witnesses for God’s Kingdom. Today are you praying for a loved one to come and make a decision to live for Jesus? Consider how we live our lives and what is important to us in this life and see if we have the power it takes for us to become the influence we need to be towards our family and friends and the world around us.
