This transformative experience describes a period of deep spiritual desolation, emptiness, and seeming abandonment by God. It is not a punishment, but a divine purging—stripping away attachments, illusions, and ego so that the soul may enter into a deeper union with the Divine.

Through this darkness, the soul is invited to surrender, trust, and ultimately emerge into a more radiant and purified love. We reflect on this mystical path through the lens of suffering and comfort, grief and grace—as seen in the imagery of Mary Magdalene weeping, and Christ offering solace. Together, they become symbols of our inner struggle and divine reassurance through the night of transformation.
