For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:31-33).

A key locks and unlocks, preventing or granting access to things. So also is knowledge to the human soul - it can shield us from undesirable situations, as well as open us up to delightful experiences not previously imagined. It is God’s will to give us the keys of His kingdom. To grant us authority over all things and give us access to all He has prepared for us. But we must come to the knowledge of Him. We must come to the knowledge of truth.

The former, even if great, is like building upon sand, while the latter is like building upon the rock that will withstand the storms that come. If we are to build, let us do so like the patriarch of old: “For he waited for the city which had foundations, whose builder and maker is God.” ~ Hebrews 11:10
