It is finally here, the long awaited return of High School Football! Its Week 1 in the Valley and we have you covered right here on Kirby's Kickoff powered by Frederick County Parks and Recreation!

This week Sherando travels to face Amherst, Millbrook hosts Loudoun Valley, James Wood hosts Clarke County, Central travels to Stuarts Draft, Warren County travels to Rock Ridge and the defending Class 2 State Champion Strasburg Rams host the Skyline Hawks. On Saturday the Handley Judges open the season at home against Eastern View.

Coming up on the Week 1 edition of Kirby's Kickoff Josh catches up with Ryan Rutherford with The River 95.3 and Fox Sports Radio 1450 on Strasburg vs Skyline. Dan Gloster of Winchester's Classic Country 95.7 talks Millbrook v Loudoun Valley & Handley v Eastern View along with a look at the rest of the High School Football landscape.

Later, conversations with coaches across the valley prior to Week 1 of High School Football.

The Strasburg Rams made history by winning their first State Title in school history. Josh talks with a local author, Ryan Sonner of the newly published book, "Until it was Ours" which is a story that looks back at the storied past of previous Strasburg Football teams along with the 2025 state title run and championship win.
