Hello again Fellow Golfists, 

In the episode I vented about a less than ideal golf experience that I had this past weeekend trying to play golf somewhere that had a cooler climate.  I took a risk and it didn't work out.    

I also had the chance to get out and practice at the Sacramento National at Haggin Oaks driving range where I had a breakthrough with regard to alignment and setup.  And met up with a couple of older gentlemen who I met back in the winter.  Rudy and Ray were delightful to chat with.  Rudy Danzinger was the founder at Tower Records, which is a historic music store institution, that, to my knowledge started in Sacramento California.  

Also got to chat with an someone who had a eagle eye viewer account of the small airplane that crashed last weekend at the Haggin Oaks Blue and Red Nine clubhouse.  Thanks to Augusto at Haggin Oaks for chatting with me about what he observed last sunday when the Piper PA 28 aircraft fell out of the sky and landed with no power against the Haggin Oaks clubhouse.    

Also got to visit Ancil Hoffman golf course and practiced more of my putting by "looking at the hole" where results were promising.  And spoke about what it is like to finally understand a golf concept, that took 30 years to finally realize.

Hello again Fellow Golfists, 

A small airplane took off on Sunday afternoon August 4th 2024 from McClellan AFB / Airport and crash landed on the east side of the Sacramento National / Haggin Oaks Blue And Red Nine golf course pro shop and blue and red practice putting green.  The Piper PA 28 Cherokee had an engine failure and the pilot had to make an emergency landing.  Miraculously this crash landing did not cause any substantial injury to either the pilot, golfers, or golf course personnel on the ground.  The practice putting green and the golf course clubhouse, originally built in 1932, sustained damage.

In this episode I reflect on a plane crash that I observed first hand when I worked as a 2nd Assistant Superintendent at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose California way back in 2002, and an incident with a piece of golf course equipment during my time at DeBell Golf Course in Burbank California.  Here is a link to a newspaper article of a plane crash that happened on 3.7.02 at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club.

Got to play again after work this past friday in late June 2024 and I bought some balls from Walmart that were a bit more reasonable than another golf store that I visited recently.  Also got to play Hiddenbrooke for the 2nd time this month and was surprised how differently the course played with little wind.

Hello again Golfists, 

I had a really fun outing at Hiddenbrooke Golf Club in Vallejo California in June of 2024.  I had a ball learning more about what it is like to play golf in the wind.  It was a pleasant close to the bay type of an outing that really had some brilliant cool breezes  that I really enjoyed after a dreadful Friday at work.  Anyway I played the Palmer tees and I got to play a US Open type of a par 3 that measured 250 yards.

I had a really brilliant time playing golf in 30 mph winds at Bodega Harbour Golf Links in Bodega Bay California in mid June of 2024.  I had a ball playing golf the way it was originally intended, Links Golf!!  I got to make 2 videos for the youtube channel and I thought they turned out pretty good with some good music that I cannot share on this podcast.

Hello again Fellow Golfists,

I was in a twosome in a best ball tournament and my partner and I shot a combined score of 9 under par 58 finishing 2nd place behind a group that shot 56. The tournament took place at Davis Golf Course in Davis California which is a par 67 golf course.  I really tried to summarize what the experience was like because I have never been that successful at doing golf, ever.  The group had planned to be a foursome but 2 folks didn't show up and it was just me and my partner, Mr G.  We were told to play like a foursome.   

I had a brilliant Saturday playing this course yet again, for my 3rd outing of 2024, at the same golf course on PGA Championship Saturday when Davis GC was really prepared brilliantly.  Greens rolled great, cups were great, and fairways were great.  It makes me think that golf courses might be in better condition when any type of tournament takes place.
