When her community was in danger, she acted. 46-year-old artist and vehicle dweller Heidi Forcher, known online as Spooky Amaryllis, was working her booth at a Seattle market when a deranged man began attacking people at an art market. Thanks to Heidi's fast thinking and survival instincts, she saved a shop owner during a brutal attack, body slamming the assailant to the ground until police arrived.

Despite working and creating jewelry for her Etsy shop, she’s faced the same housing struggles so many Americans are experiencing today.

After turning down her family’s offers to couch-surf, she later watched them become unhoused themselves, now living in a tent behind a shopping center while still holding jobs.
