"Impervious To Oblivion..."
On this entry, I dive into a curated selection of the past few weekβs worth of Death Stranding theories, news and discussion, including one of the most kindred expressions about life, time and existence I've ever had the pleasure to read. I also discuss the newly-discovered Japanese Tardigrade, which looks curiously similar to the strange, scuttling, Timefall-resistant creatures that exists between dimensions in the world of Death Stranding...

Welcome toΒ Death Stranding Podcast - your source for news, analysis and discussion centred on the upcoming title from Kojima Productions, as well as the game'sΒ incomparable and unique creatorΒ Hideo Kojima, and his many eclectic inspirations.
DSP aims to showcase Kojima's work as an intricate and nuanced intersection of diverse subjects, from philosophy, to manga, physics, art, poetry and more, and explore how these have served to make his games all the more universal, enduring, and quintessentially human.
Both bodies of work - Kojima's own, and his seemingly infinite array of influences across all media - are worthy of their own separate ongoing discussions, unto themselves - but when taken together, they are immeasurably enhanced as a result.
DSP's ultimate goal is to likewise enhance the audience's appreciation and experience of Kojima's art, by revealing and delving into the connections (strands) that exist between Kojima and both his own art and that of others.
Video Games (interactive art and entertainment) are a legitimate launching pad for wider and deeper learning about ourselves, each other, and the world we live in. Of all forms of art, games are closest to real life - both are inherently interactive experiences that require your active participation and emotional engagement for them to be what they are. When this unique and profound connection to the human condition is tapped into and leveraged properly, games truly have the potential to be the most enriching, moving and immersive form of art ever.
