If we want to see the change we wish to see in the world outside, we must start inside. We must continue to challenge ourselves, and our community, to be better listeners and better advocates for one another. Understanding leads to true empathy and right action. No more microaggressions*. No more “racism doesn’t exist” statements.
Together, we must ACTION. Let’s do better TOGETHER. The time is now. Becoming a better ally begins with making a long-term commitment to educating yourself on the dynamic realities marginalized people face and showing up. We are sharing this guide for those with social privilege to understand the wide range of ways to use that privilege to help marginalized communities, with resources from articles to charitable causes to guide that journey—wherever you may be.
This personal growth work is ongoing, and difficult, yet necessary to create a world where everyone belongs. My hope is that through navigating this guide and reflecting on your reality, it will become easier for you to see, and believe, and say that #blacklivesmatter too.
