  • 10. Gratitude in Action… Faith, Perseverance, and Living with High Standards

"In order to hold up a high standard, we have to trust that what's coming on the other side is going to be better than what we are currently saying no to, which is where faith comes in."

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I talk about the transformative power of gratitude, faith, and living a life of high standards. I emphasize that gratitude is an action, not just a feeling, and recount how hitting rock bottom allowed me to connect with a higher power. I stress the importance of taking action, surrendering to God's will, and being of service to others. I truly want this to encourage us to uphold high standards and persist in gratitude practices, highlighting the profound impact of faith and perseverance.

  • 9. Rock Bottom Defined… Navigating the Depths of Despair

'Just because somebody else may have had it worse does not diminish the fact that your story matters, that your feelings matter, and that the only way that we can possibly begin to heal and to find peace and forgiveness within our own stories is to acknowledge the way that our stories and our lives have impacted us.'

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I dig right into the concept of hitting rock bottom and the transformative power of desperation. I share my personal experiences with mental health and alcoholism, challenging the stereotypical image of rock bottom. I emphasize the importance of validating one's own struggles without comparison to others.

I discuss the significance of addressing impostor syndrome, lack of confidence, and fear, and highlight the impact of sharing stories in a group setting. My narrative offers an honest portrayal of my journey through multiple bottoms, including an abusive relationship and addiction, underscoring the internal pain that drives change.

  • 6. BE’ing AND DO’ing… How to Handle the Unknown by Surrendering to God's Plan While Taking Action

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, Let’s really dig into the balance between taking action and surrendering to God's plan. I emphasize how crucial it is to integrate both aspects into our lives, using the metaphor of a gardener tending to a seed to illustrate this balance.

  • 5. Knowing God’s Will…Navigating Life's Changes Like a Chess Game

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I open up about my own experiences in business, life, and recovery, highlighting the importance of trusting in God's plan, even when the path ahead isn't clear. I liken the experience to playing a game of chess, where each move comes with its own set of challenges, especially when you're trying to live by faith.

I share the unique ways in which God might reach out to us. It's a reminder that divine communication doesn't always come in the form of grand gestures; more often, it's found in the quiet, mundane moments of our lives. The episode I hope brings you peace to accept the unease that comes with uncertainty about the future and to focus on taking life one step at a time, always seeking and following God's lead.

  • 3. From Wheelchair to Weights… Her Story of Redemption & Recovery After Being Hit by a (Literal) Truck with Jodi Evans, Personal Trainer

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I am bringing on my first guest Jodi Evans who has an incredible redemption story of rock bottom to how God has worked in her life. Jodi is a personal trainer that helps moms use faith to fuel their fitness journey. We talk about the life-altering accidents that left her in a wheelchair, leaning on pain management, and battle with addiction.

She shares the role of faith in her recovery and how she found purpose through art, crafts, and projects that led her to becoming a personal trainer. Jodi candidly shares her struggles with the legal system, addiction, and pain management, and how a choice between jail and rehab became a turning point. Her story brought me to tears, because of her resilience and transformation, culminating in her work as a fitness coach and author of a devotional cookbook, to now sharing her testimony to inspire others.

  • 2. Prayer - Finding God's Will in the Mundane

"Over the years of practicing life this way, I have been amazed to see that God does in fact know better for me what I need and what my purpose is than I could ever know." - Kori Leigh

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I talk about how I found God through prayer and came to realize that God's will often reveals itself in the simple, everyday tasks we all do. I look back on how I used to focus on self-centered prayers and how I've transformed to praying for God's will and dedicating myself to serving others.

I want this episode to encourage you all to live a purpose-driven life, to let go of the need to understand every complexity of life, and to trust in God's plan for us.

  • 1. Your Mess in Your Message - Sharing My Story of God Meeting Me in My Darkest Moments

"When we do our work to heal and to surrender to God's will, God then uses our past to help somebody else."

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I am starting off sharing my story of the tough parts of growing personally, going through recovery, and how sometimes it's those really dark times that bring us the most important messages about ourselves. I don't hold back when it comes to my struggles with trust and getting close to people, all because of some rough stuff that happened in my childhood. Those experiences really molded how I see God. I'm a big believer in the idea that we should all have the freedom to explore and redefine what faith means to us. I want to get across that your faith isn't something static, but God is; it's this deeply personal journey that keeps changing and growing, just like we do.

Overall, I wanted to share that God came to me in my darkest moment, not because I prayed for help, actually I wanted nothing to do with God, but because there was a moment where He could access me, and He did. He will meet you where you are at too.
