Saul had access to God his entire life and kept choosing everything else. When the pressure finally became too much, he ran to a medium. And the striking thing isn’t that he was weak. Saul was strong. His strength was the very thing that kept him from ever surrendering. A heart that refuses to yield doesn’t usually collapse all at once. Was that God or was that just me? Most of us have asked that question more than once and never quite landed on an answer. A thought we couldn't shake. A feeling that seemed like it could be Him. A prompting we almost acted on and then talked ourselves out of. And we walked away unsure.

Here is what makes that question so hard. God's Word, the Spirit, our own desires, our fears, our conscience, past experience, and even wisdom can all sound remarkably similar at times. And not every strong feeling is the voice of God. So how do we hold that truth without becoming people who are too afraid to trust Him at all?

In the first episode of Season 2, we walk through the story of Samuel, a young man who was literally sleeping in the house of the Lord, surrounded by worship and ministry, and still did not recognize God's voice the first time he heard it.
