  • Where are Abraham's emotions in Genesis 22?

    What in the world is happening in Genesis 22? Why doesn’t the author describe Abraham’s emotional struggle in this story? Let’s explore it. As part of this discussion, the different “senses” of Scripture will be used. Here’s a quick reminder of what the senses are:

    The literal sense teaches what happened,

    The allegorical what you should believe,

    The tropological (or moral) what you should do,

    The anagogic where you are going.

    These senses are described in the episode titled “What is the Bible?”
