Welcome to Stories Come to Life. This is Episode 22, book 3, and I am your host, Kathryn Lopez Luker.

Almost everyone has heard the story of the Wizard of Oz, or has read the book, or has seen the movie. But did you know that there are many more books about adventures in Oz? The book I will be reading now is The Land of Oz, and it is the second in the series. It was written by L. Frank Baum and published in 1904. Here you will hear about Tip, a young boy who escapes a wicked witch and travels with his creation, Jack Pumpkinhead, to the Emerald City. You will also hear about the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and meet other interesting characters.

So, sit back, relax, and listen to this story come to life!
