Last month on our Langham Live call, we were joined by Dr Carl Moeller, President of Langham Partnership in the United States. Carl oversees a team of 16 people who raise awareness about and funds for Langham’s work around the world.
He’s got a breadth of experience, having worked for Campus for Christ in Eastern Europe before the fall of the Berlin Wall, and with Open Doors engaging with the persecuted Church overseas.
This is a wide-ranging and warm conversation and I hope you’ll her Carl’s heart as he seeks to inspire US believers to listen and learn from the Majority World Church.
The UK National Director John Libby was speaking to Carl who lives in San Diego and he started by asking about his family.

June 23, 2026 'I'M BRINGING SIMON PETER'S EXPERIENCE TO LIFE' - Langham Author Johannes Van Der Bijl from the Netherlands
Langham author Johannes Van der Bijl has written a unique book called ‘Breakfast on the Beach’ which is a chronological retelling of the Gospels, focusing on the experience of Simon Peter.
As you’ll hear in the episode, Johannes wrote the book after teaching theology to oral learners in Ethiopia, where story-telling is a necessary tool.
Johannes shared about the huge impact the book’s had already, and how the Lord used the Covid pandemic and major health issues to enable the book to be written.

May 20, 2026 Challenges in East Asia: meet Langham Preaching's Johnny McClean in Thailand
Johnny McClean has been serving the Lord in Thailand for over thirty years. For some of that time, he’s been Langham Preaching’s coordinator for East Asia – a vast region, which has many varied challenges.
During the call, Johnny shared his burden for neighbouring countries where “creative access” is needed in order to go in and train preachers – you’ll hear Johnny use this term in the episode.
There’s so much exciting work going on in this region and I hope you enjoy hearing about the huge variety of people Johnny works with and about Langham’s impact through all three programmes.

Johnny lives in Thailand with his wife Anne, who teaches English in a nearby American school. They have three grown-up children who all now live in the UK. Johnny and Anne are also missionaries with UFM (United for Mission).

April 27, 2026 ‘There’s a GREAT NEED for good preaching in Europe’
On our Langham Live call in March, we were privileged to be joined by Andy Oatridge, a fairly new member of the Langham global family! Last June, he took over from Mark Meynell as Preaching Director for Europe and the Caribbean.
As you’ll hear in the episode, Andy now lives in Hungary with his Hungarian wife and three children, having set up Christian youth camps there. He now leads a bible training centre and co-pastors a church plant.
Andy has a great affection for Langham’s mission and vision and has big dreams for what God could do through Langham Preaching in Europe and the Caribbean.
Our Supporter Development Officer for Ireland Mark Armstrong conducted the interview this time. He started by asking Andy where he was joining the call from.

March 23, 2026 'God called me to STAY IN MEXICO' - Alejandra Ortiz, Langham Scholar in Mexico
Alejandra Ortiz joined us on Langham Live lit February from Tijuana, Mexico, where she’s involved in student ministry through IFES (International Fellowship of Evangelical Students). Alejandra is also a Langham Scholar! She is studying for a PhD through the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies (but living in Mexico).
It was a fascinating conversation, learning about why Alejandra felt called to further study, and how she thinks it could greatly impact the wider Church in her region.
At the time of recording, Mexico had been in the UK news after a major military operation against an important drug cartel. Alejandra shared how her and her family were affected.
Simon Foulds, our Supporter Development Manager, was the interviewer this time.

February 25, 2026 ‘The college library was USELESS’ – Jacob Haasnoot from Langham Netherlands, January 2026
On our first Langham Live call of 2026, we were joined by Jacob Haasnoot, the Director of Langham's new branch in the Netherlands!
Jacob brings with him a wealth of experience, including a number of years teaching theological students in Ethiopia and South Sudan. It was here that he first saw Langham's impact for himself. His college received contextually relevant books for its library through our library grants scheme. This hugely benefited his students.

Setting up the new Langham entity in the Netherlands has come with its challenges, which you’ll also hear about.

On our final Langham Live call of the year, we were blessed to be joined by our International Director Riad Kassis.
Riad and his family live and serve in the Lebanon and before starting his current role he was the director of the Langham Scholars programme. During the call, Riad shares an Advent Devotional and brings us up to date with Langham’s work around. He also gives an insight about what it’s like living in the Middle East at this time.
Riad’s Executive Assistant Cindy Crossley, who lives in Chichester England, conducted this interview.

November 24, 2025 'We're seeing SIGNIFICANT GROWTH across Africa, despite many challenges' - Femi Adeleye, Langham Preaching Director for Africa
Our dear brother Femi Adeleye, Director for Langham Preaching Africa, shares major encouragements, issues and requests for prayer in the latest Langham Live podcast episode.

Femi, who is also a Langham Scholar, has been involved in Langham Preaching in Africa since it started there in 2003. It's his 10th year as Director for Africa, and now Femi leads a team of nine people who coordinate training seminars in 32 countries. These include new movements starting in Guinea, the Gambia and Gabon in 2023.

Femi highlighted the prevalence of the so-called ‘prosperity Gospel’ in his continent, which means preaching training is a pressing need. He also shared major concerns about security: churches are being attacked and pastors displaced, which is hindering the training.

The interview was conducted by Simon Foulds, LPUKI's Supporter Development Manager.

Colin Macpherson has worked with Langham for many years as the Director of Publisher Development. Based near Inverness, Scotland, Colin walks alongside indigenous publishing houses around the world to enable good Christian books written by local authors to be published. There are a multitude of factors involved and Colin has been a crucial guiding hand, working with publishers in 40 – 50 different languages
This is such a fascinating conversation as we take a behind-the-scenes look at an area of Langham’s work that might not usually get lots of attention. But the impact of locally written Christian books in heart languages is hugely transformative.

September 16, 2025 Mary Evans: Langham trustee, author and former Bible College vice principal.
Mary Evans is a long-standing supporter and trustee of Langham with many years of experience teaching theology here and overseas.
Mary has been on the board of trustees for Langham Partnership since 2010, but her connection with Langham go back further than that, as we’ll hear in this conversation.
Mary was on the staff at London Bible College – now called London School of Theology – for 35 years. She joined the board of various organisations such as the Bible Society, Latin Link and SIM. Mary has also written several books including commentaries on 1&2 Samuel and Judges.
As Mary comes to the end of her time as a trustee for Langham, it was fitting that she was asked to reflect back and share her hopes for Langham’s future.
The interviewer in this episode is Supporter Development Officer Mark Armstrong.
