Nerding out HARD on business & language learning

It's really standing out to me how much we all need each other. Everyone needs help. In my earlier adult life, I didn't understand this at all. I thought I could do everything. I'd jam-pack my schedule and wear many different hats. I took everything onto my own plate. But eventually I started to notice that I was spinning my wheels and not really moving the ball forward. I didn't want to be busy for the sake of being busy. In fact, I wanted to be less busy. I wanted more time to myself and not be go-go-go 24/7. That’s when, gradually, I learned to stick to my strengths and accept the help of others to fill in the gaps around my weaknesses. I can't do it all. I can accept the help of others. Here's a real life, current example: one of my tutors has made a video-based course for the Calgary Language Nerds that is 99% ready to be launched. I just have to do a few administrative tasks first before it can go live. The problem is that I hate administrative tasks. I'm slow at them. They're hard for me. They exhaust me. I do them poorly too since I'm not always one to pay close attention to small details. As a result, I sent a text to my assistant asking her for help. It's absolutely ok not to do everything by myself and to need support. Nobody is superman. --- Thanks for listening/reading!
