I’ve been “cooking up” today’s episode in my head for months, because it’s something I really wanted to address, but I acknowledge the fact that I’ll probably just scratch the surface in the few minutes it will take me to explore this subject. I’m talking about the effort language professionals have been making nowadays to make sure we embrace diversity in our translations and interpretations, so as to not propagate bias through our work.
So, I’ll try to unpack the subject as much as possible here, but would really like to keep the conversation going. If you’re comfortable to do so, send me your first-hand experiences with the language of diversity and inclusion, whether you’re a woman, a person of color, a member of the LGBTIQA+ community, or simply an ally like me who is passionate about the subject and wants to promote equality.
