Finally... an ADULT romance where everything ADULT didn't leave my ear tips turning red. I'm not a prude by far & I do love some 'well written' erotica (just saying), but this novel was a delightful read from beginning to end. I actually finished it in one sitting, only taking time for 2 quick 10 minute walks around my complex to stretch my legs.

It had just the right amount of SIZZLE & SUSPENSE broken up with the occasional comic moment which allowed the reader to take a breath just before being pulled into more adventure.

I found myself holding my breath while Harper was facing her ARDENT CRAZED fan who certainly would be my worst nightmare & very much enjoyed the no pressure approach that took place in making Nick & Harper's relationship work. It's all about compromise, trust & understanding. And... well, physical attraction can't hurt. *soft smile...

But... What woman wouldn't LOVE to be rescued by a Marine. I know I'd be standing in line. But I don't have to since I already have one that makes me feel protected all the time!!! Yep. I'm one lucky gal :O)

Loved but as previous reviewer said I would have loved for a better ending. Harper is a and up and coming actress who hit it big time with her last movie and is becoming more popular. One day as she is walking with her mom and brother a man runs up to her with a cup in his hand to throw at her in an instant Nick an ex-marine jumps in time to save the cup of acid on her body. So starts the romance of Harper and Nick one of the things I love that she was the aggressor she went after him, not your usual romance flow but it truly worked here. Both Harper and Nick are wounded souls though she is famous she still cannot deal thoroughly with her been raised in an orphan and then being adopted to Nick being tortured while in the Marines and is now feels dead inside. There is a lot action, intrigue happening its amazing the author was able to get it all down to less than three hundred pages. It was a lovely book and I will be intrigued to read more of Emma South.

Overall, I liked the book and found it entertaining.

I don't normally read contemporary romance but I thought this book did a good job of diving right into what makes the characters tick.
