  • Couldn't give a Trossard!
Discover what happens when the strategic prowess of Manchester United clashes with Liverpool's missed opportunities in a game that leaves fans on the edge of their seats.

We kick off with a goal-by-goal breakdown of the 2-2 spectacle at Old Trafford, unpacking the defensive blunders and strategical chess that defined the match. Mike joins Jamie to dissect whether United's high-risk game under Ten Hag is a flash in the pan or a glimpse into a winning formula, and we scrutinize Liverpool's chances of ending their season with success after this pulsating encounter.

The drama doesn't stop there as we tackle the hotly debated penalty involving Wan-Bissaka and Elliot, along with Casemiro's hair-raising challenge. Our conversation takes a twist to Liverpool's European journey and the resilience of Manchester City, while not forgetting to shine a light on Arsenal's defensive masterclass propelling them towards a possible title. With sharp commentary from Mike, we don't shy away from Klopp's psychological tactics and the contentious Lamptey-Jesus penalty, offering you an arsenal of insights that go beyond the surface-level analysis.

Finally, we scrutinize Chelsea's stumbling blocks, and Everton's recent joy. The battle for fourth and relegation roulette. The VAR debate heats up in ref watch. We close out by considering the potential repercussions of domestic matches played abroad on the league's quality and the fabric of the fan experience, all while keeping you anchored in the passion that makes football more than just a game.

  • Mentality Monsters take 2!

Hello and welcome to the Late Kick Off Football Podcast.

Jamie, Mike and Sheela here this week to dissect the latest week of footballing action. In this episode we start at Wembley as "Klop's kids" beat the "billion pound blue bottle jobs", a great game for narative writers but are narratives always as they appear.
Manchester United's new era gets off to a bad start, we discuss the transition play and United's failings at the back. What impact does it have on their England stars' chances of making the Euros?
Elsewhere, we discuss Arsenal's tremendous run of form and whether Man City do in fact need to improve performances in the league.
    Are Brentford at risk?
We also move north of the border, Dunfermline improve their fortunes, shame Aberdeen have not!

  • The Kalvin Scale

Hello and welcome to the Late Kick Off Football Podcast.

This week its Jamie, Mike and Sheela! We start at the Ethiad and Chelsea's robust, if not all that surprising performance, against City. We discuss City's exposure to an effective counter-attack and Poch's premature substitutions. We turn our attention to the battle for the top four, Man United win again but the performances still do not convince and we discuss the significance of Dan Ashworth joining the club. Aston Villa get a much needed win and performance. Ange ball comes unstuck against everyone's favourite English manager, a manager of great results.

We tone, in the play-off places, but the wrong ones.

Lastly, with the independent mid-season VAR review we discuss VAR in Scotland, is it different to other countries, should it be, and what are the solutions (if any).
