  • Episode 363 - 5 Reasons to Use a Word for Motivation

Something I’ve been doing for the last few years is picking a word of motivation for the year.

A word that describes the person I need to be to fulfill the goals that I set out to achieve.

I believe that when you establish a word of motivation or theme for the year, you set an intention for your thinking, your behavior, and your actions.

Doing this has helped me stay in a more frequent state of pursuit toward my goals.

In this episode of the Lead Up Podcast, I go over 5 reasons everyone should pick a word of motivation for 2024:

    1. Personal alignment - Embracing a word as your guiding principle ensures that every action you take is aligned with your goals.
    2. Simplicity of focus - With a single word, you avoid getting lost in the multitude of approaches to success. Instead, you concentrate on one key aspect that truly matters.
    3. Motivation & Inspiration - Your chosen word should motivate and inspire you to pursue your loftiest aspirations.
    4. Measurable Progress - The word you select acts as a barometer for your progress. It enables you to assess whether your actions are in harmony with your chosen focus.
    5. Personal Growth - When you grow personally, you grow as a leader. Once you have your goals in front of you for 2024, consider the type of person you need to be to fulfill them and choose a word that will keep you in alignment and motivate you to continually pursue them.

    7. Episode 362 The Homestretch Matters

As the holiday season rolls around, it’s easy to take your foot off the gas and coast to the end of the year. After all, you’ve worked hard this year, right?

Now, imagine if instead of easing up on your efforts, you decided to double down and make a final push toward the goals you set for this year.

What if instead of using this as a season to relax, you use it as a season to make up ground on the competition and set yourself and your team up for a huge 2024?

I’m not condemning rest or time with family, as I believe that too should be prioritized, but I also know that if you use your time wisely, you can sprint to the finish line like you never have before and set yourself up for great success.

This week on the Lead Up Podcast, I discuss:

      • The importance of a leader's mindset
      • GRIT
      • Combining skill set with mindset
      • Running through the finish line of 2023

Take the lead and start frequently expressing gratitude to everyone on your team.

People NEED encouragement. Make gratitude a priority and watch the positive shift in your workplace environment.
