Jos Butler dug England out of a hole scoring an incredible 101* supported by Morgan with 40. Sri Lanka's spin attack was outstanding going for 34 of 48 balls taking 3 wickets at a batting SR of 70.

New Zealand have beaten India b 8 wickets with ease in a huge contest in group 2. Restricted to 100/7 the Blackcaps bowled superbly with Ish Sodhi taking 2/17 and Trent Boult 3/20. In reply New Zealand strolled home with 5.3 overs remaining thanks to 49 from Daryl Mitchell.

Afghanistan's hard hitting ways were on full show as they hit 160/5 and restricted Namibia to 98/9.

South Africa left it late in a close contest against Sri Lanka thanks to David Miller's big 6 hitting in the final over

Pakistan have done it again this time against a resolute Afghanistan team. A great advert for sub continent cricket both teams fought hard but once again Asif Ali carried his team home scoring 4 sixes in the final over.

Pakistan have thrashed India by 10 wickets at the T20 World Cup thanks to an incredible bowling performance by Shaheen Shah Afridi who dismissed KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma during the powerplay.

Chasing 152 Pakistan strolled home thanks to 50's from Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam.

Sri Lanka continued their good form with a nicely managed run chase as they knocked off 172 with 7 balls to spare. Bangladesh will rue some poor fielding but held their own in the contest.

Mohammad Naim (62) and Mushfiqur Rahim (57*) laid the platform for Bangladesh inn contest that had its fiery spells thanks to a wild throw at the stumps by Dushmantha Chameera.

Charith Asalanka (80*) was incredible in the chase and gave a sense of security as Sri Lanka won ...yet again.

Another matchup of the qualifying teams saw Afghanistan take on the surprise package, Scotland in the only game of the day on Monday. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to have a bat. They made the most of the decision and went on to post 190/4 with contributions coming from all used batters. Hazratullah Zazai and Mohammad Shahzad got them off to a flyer, reaching 54 before Shahzad went 1-ball before the end of the powerplay. They kept the pace up with Rahmanullah Gurbaz 46 (37) and Najibullah Zadran 59 (34). Over the innings, they struck 11 x 6s and made the most of the shorter boundary.

In reply, Scotland got off to a good start thanks to George Munsey & Kyle Coetzer, who were not going to hang around! Mujeeb popped up with to claim the all-important 1st wicket to break the partnership and make it 28/1 off 3.2 overs. Callum MacLeod went LBW next ball and he made it 3 wkts in 4 balls when he trapped Richie Berrington in front. An unplayable over from Mujeeb ur-Rahman. Both LBW’s reviewed and were umpires call, clipping leg stump. Excellent bowling but Scotland will feel a little hard done by with the on field decisions. Matthew Cross went for 0 soon after, from a stunning one-handed diving catch from Shahzad behind the stumps off the bowling of Naveen (who had great success in the Vitality Blast with Leicestershire this summer). By the time Munsey went next over – a 4th Mujeeb victim also with umpires call on the impact line - the game was changed and at 36/5. Rashid Khan then rattled through the line-up to dismiss Scotland for just 60 all out and give Afghanistan a mammoth 130-run win, with Mujeeb taking 5/20 off 4 and Rashid Khan 4/9 off 2.2.

The T20 Cricket World Cup is in full swing as England have smashed the West Indies after dismissing them for 55.
Moeen Ali was incredible taking 2 wicket and bowling 18 dot balls during the first 8 overs of the innings. Adil Rashid picked up 4 wickets for just 2 runs as the West Indies kept picking out fielders to clear the ropes.

Australia have snuck past a good South African team after chasing down 119 thanks to 35 from Steve Smith and 24 not out from Marcus Stoinis. Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell both bowled beautifully to help restrict South Africa to 118.

The hosts got off to an emphatic start clinching a 10-wkt win, set up in large part by their experienced skipper Zeeshan Maqsood who ripped through the PNG middle order. PNG got off to a shocker of start sitting 0-2 in the 1st 9 balls but captain Assad Vala (56) and Charles Amini (37) got them up to 81. It all went downhill from here, staggering to 112-5 and then 129 a/o. Jatinder Singh (73*) and Aquib Ilyas (50*) then made light work of the PNG attack, comfortably getting home inside 14 overs to get them off to a flying start. No shortage of MOM nominees for Oman with the unbeaten openers and 2 wkts for quick Bilal Khan but it was the winning skipper, Zeeshan Maqsood that was rightly awarded the honor. Bangladesh, who will neup next for the hosts.

Another incredible team and individual performance in game 2, this time by Scotland who made life as difficult as possible for themselves before coming back to beat the favored Bangladeshis. Star for Scotland was Chris Greaves playing in only his 2nd game – and who was until recently working delivering parcels for Amazon – whose top score knock of 45 batting at 7 helped Scotland to 140/9 after they had slipped to 53/6, before snaffling 2/19 in the Bangladesh reply including the wicket of star batsman Shakib al-Hasan. As for Shakib, his 2 wickets established him as the leading wicket taker in T20i history – with 108 victims – one more than SL legend Lasith Malinga. Tim Southee (99) and Rashid Khan (95) will both be looking to catch him up! No time to wallow for the Lions as it’s a tough one against the hosts Oman next.

Another game, another young player stepping up… this time it was 22 y/o Joburg born Curtis Campher who put in a MOM performance to give Ireland a huge 1st win against this experienced Dutch side. Whilst Mark Adair took an impressive 3/9 in his 4 overs, it was Campher who will grab the headlines after taking 4 wkts in 4 balls in the 10th over – seeing off Colin Ackermann, Ryan ten Doeschate, Scott Edwards and Roelof van der Merwe. After which, the Netherlands were 51 for 6 before setting Ireland the modest target of 107 thanks to a plucky 21 from skipper Pieter Seelaar. Paul Sterling’s 30* and a fluid 44 off 29 balls from Gareth Delaney got Ireland close before he was dismissed, allowing MOM Campher to be in at the end with an unbeaten 7 to go with 4 mightily impressive wickets. Netherlands are up against it now.
