The Leafcutter Bee Vandals

Perfect semicircular cuts in your rose leaves look like vandalism. They aren't pest damage at all — they're evidence of one of the most precise construction projects in the insect world. Leafcutter bees shear pieces of leaf with toothed mandibles, carry them off, and use them to build overlapping, water-resistant nursery cells inside hollow stems and old beetle tunnels.
