And so it ends. The most promising Leafs team in decades squanders yet another year, with effort coming too little too late as the Leafs are unable to dig their way out of the hole they created for themselves. The Leafscast records their reactions to the final game of the year and its not pretty (kind of like how the Leafs played in the 2nd round). The one thing we can agree on is that for the second year in a row the referee's stole a goal from us in the deciding game of the series and that it ultimately doesn't matter because for the 7th year in a row the Leafs prove that they don't have what it takes. Maybe next year Matthew Knies and Jospeh Woll will save us?

The Leafs once again fail to play a full 60 minute game, with segments of uninspired play and lazy mistakes costing them in the end as they can't solve Bobrovsky (who has regained his 2019 form). Hope is not all lost as the Leafs looked dominant for the majority of the game - but there's no margin for error left as they are down 0-2 in the series. So much for our optimism! Once again the Leafs lose their 7th game of the playoffs - lucky for them its in round 2! Despite losing home ice advantage in the series, there were lots of positives to take away from Game 1.
