    14. @109 students forget how much agency they have, how do you apply the knowledge in practice in your particular field, how to apply that stuff as a plant, they are providing some foundational knowledge - systematically speaking challenge other professors believe in yourself - what do we pay for in our society - do we pay for A’s in calc classes - stuff that gets celebrated people who leverage old ideas in new ways so much of the challenge of education for students to figure out new and creative ways to apply and combined old knowledge to solve new problems - their job is not let me synthesize my ideas - how to apply something to a completely new context - if I was to speak to a student - start to track your questions treating your questions as important - challenge authority - you make your own education
