Do people fear technology or do they embrace it? 

In this episode, we look at Technology Acceptance in Education and explore what causes people to either accept or reject technology. 

This is very topical as we see attitudes to AI across the spectrum from banning it outright to embracing it completely.

This is a special episode of The Learning Mindset - because this is an experiment.

In this episode, I used AnswerThis - a research tool - to generate deep research on evidence-backed learning techniques. AnswerThis.io is the website to check it out, and you can use the discount code FRANK20 if you decide to go Pro.

The resulting paper was incredibly well constructed, so I tossed it into NoteBookLM and generated this episode!

The results were impressive - but I'll let you decide on that. Both tools are worth experimenting more with. 

I'm especially interested in using them as a way to join the conversation, but have an "expert guest" challenge my thinking.

Should we allow YouTube in the classroom? I believe we should not only allow - we should encourage it! Students want to use the platform to learn - YouTube is far more than just entertainment and recent announcements are only reenforcing the use of the platform a learning tool.

Metacognition - thinking about how we think - is a key element in producing better learning outcomes for ourselves and those we teach.

To help my own students develop metacognitive skills - I introduce them to Learning Journals. These Learning Journals are self-reflection not only on the subjects we are studying, but also an opportunity for students to reflect on their own learning process.
