Jesus says. “You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You shall not murder.’” (Matthew 5:21) That sounds reasonable. I think I can manage not to murder anyone so I can live in God’s reign of peace, justice, joy, and grace. It is the least I can do. Jesus, however, wishes for us to live in a way that is more than “the least we can do.” Jesus wishes for us the abundance of the reign of God.
