In this episode we're going to be giving you whistlestop tour of the
General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) .
GDPR is an update to the existing data protection law to align it more closely with modern technology, and the privacy issues raised by today’s information society.

"Hello and welcome to the Legal Matters Podcast with Field Seymour Parkes.

You can even catch much of this particular episode on our Youtube channel.
But first, join me on a little holiday. For some of you that may conjure up images of waves gently lapping over your toes, or maybe the warmth of the sun on your faces, or trying not to swear in front of the kids as a seagull steals your chips. For us, it means holiday pay.
So, lets quickly hop back to pre-2014 and recap the two basic distinguishing types of holiday pay . One was for employees with no normal working hours and essentially for them you calculated their holiday pay on the basis of what they'd done in the previous 12 weeks before they were off work .
The other regards employees who have normal working hours, so maybe they work 40 hours a week and take an annual salary . It’s this group we really want to look at, and with me to do so is Ian Machray, FSP’s Head of Employment. Ian, how has this been dealt with in the past?"
