In this episode we see that the accountant keeps two Maravars as security guards and also the author gives us an insight into the different types of heads known as karnathaars allocated to handle financial aspects of different departments like temple,agriculture, artillery, army, village,horses, castle expenses etc. We can also see how Sadasiva the head sculptor exhibits his inherent pride by venting out his anger on another chief sculptor, which is noticed by the Accountant. After offering prayers to all the Deities Sadasiva orders the slave solders to start the work.

The author describes the strenuous manual work undertaken by the soldiers to crack the mountainous rocks, with just big hammers and chisels.

During this work Sadasiva cautions the chalukya soldiers to move away, as a boulder was rolling down towards them. Due to their negligence,lack of awareness and swiftness the boulder rock smashes one of the chalukya soldier to death. This sad incident leaves Sadasiva agonized. The accountant is delighted to see Sadasivams agony.
