As we step in to listen to the Third Book of this magnum literature Udaiyar, I express my gratitude and reverence to the author Thiru Balakumaran Sir🙏 and Uma ma'am for her exemplary recital and efforts to enable us to savour this book through her🙏.

In this episode the author takes us through a visual tour of Nartharmalai, a town where the mountainous rocks are cut and chiselled and deported by elephant driven carts to Tanjore. These rocks will be sculpted and used in the construction of the Temple being built by Raja Raja Chola. The economy of the town is depicted tastefully here.The chieftan of Nartharmalai recieves a handwritten message from the king on a palm leaf, which states that Sadasiva Achariar will be the head of Nartharmalai and the surrounding villages hence forth. This message is being spread everywhere. The head and chief sculptor Sadasiva instructs other sculptors to conduct auspicious poojas and to start the work. He has a verbal discussion with the accountant regarding the financial matters and advices him to rent a house which shall function as a bank to ensure monetary safety.
