Brahmarayar's Flashback

This episode gives us a wonderful insight into Brahmarayars past. After the completion of Sandi Homam Brahmarayar conducts Gayatri Homan for three days for the welfare of the king and the kingdom. He then starts to Pazhaiyarai where the Chola Royal Family members once lived. The king first meets Brahmarayar at the Pazhayarai Fort.The flashback unfolds where Prince Arunmozhi the now King, Pazhuvettaiyar and Brahmarayar were undergoing sword training. At that time Brahmarayar skillfully defeats Pazhuvettaiyar and instantly earns the army commander post from the Prince. But to his dismay the Prince had given the throne to Utthamachozhan.

Brahmarayar was not interested to serve Utthamachozhan so he gets permission from the Prince to go to kandhalur warfare training centre and learn and upgrade himself and come back when the Prince sits on the throne to serve him. The Prince has been instructed by kudanthai astrologer to refrain from Kingship for six years. So he will be living as a commoner and learning and gathering good people around him during this tenure. He instructs Brahmarayar to visit various neighbouring kingdoms and to learn different warfare methods and come back to him after 5 years and join the army. Till then the Prince will provide him financial help through Vaishnavadasan introduced by Brahmarayar to serve as a brigde between them. Brahmarayar introduces Vaishnavadasan to his wife and bids goodbye to kudanthai and leaves to kandhalur warfare training centre.
