Welcome back to the podcast! Today we’re diving deep into nostalgia, major entertainment news, and some legendary film talk that you won’t want to miss.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is officially celebrating its 35th anniversary, and fans will soon have the chance to experience it the way it was meant to be seen — on the big screen. The special theatrical re-release runs nationwide from March 13 through March 19, 2026, with tickets on sale now. We break down why this fan-favorite sequel still delivers more than three decades later and how it captured the height of Turtlemania with bigger action, funnier moments, unforgettable villains, and a whole lot of pizza.
From the mysterious mutagen that expanded the franchise mythology to the unforgettable arrival of Tokka and Rahzar, Secret of the Ooze helped define a generation of fans. And yes — we absolutely talk about the iconic “Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go” moment that no longtime Turtle fan could ever forget.
We also shift gears to one of the most anticipated video game adaptations in development. Amazon’s live-action God of War series has officially received a two-season order and is currently in pre-production in Vancouver. Based on the critically acclaimed 2018 game and its sequel Ragnarök, the series will follow Kratos and his son Atreus as they journey through the Norse realm of Midgard. With a story centered on fatherhood, redemption, and the battle against powerful gods and monsters, expectations are already sky-high.
Ryan Hurst has been cast as Kratos, bringing serious presence to the role after previously portraying Thor in God of War: Ragnarök. The project is led by acclaimed showrunner Ronald D. Moore, with Emmy-winning director Frederick E.O. Toye set to helm the first two episodes. While production is underway, the scale of the series suggests a premiere is likely no earlier than 2027.
We also discuss Madden, the upcoming film starring Nicolas Cage that explores the incredible life of John Madden — from his Super Bowl-winning partnership with Al Davis and the Raiders to building the Madden NFL video game empire and becoming one of the most recognizable voices in football history.
To close things out, we highlight some of the best Nicolas Cage movies that prove why he remains one of Hollywood’s most unique and enduring stars, including Face/Off, Con Air, The Rock, and Knowing.
