Thanks for joining the No-Guilt Fangirls Podcast Monday Movie Minute for 7.29.19
It's Monday- so we're back to talk about the movies we saw in the theater. Deep talk about the parent movie reviews this week- and as always: what happened at the box office. Which has a surprise in the 10th place!
This week we're talking Crawl, The Farewell, Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood.
And spoiler: I liked them all. But obviously for very different reasons.

Everyone has their thing: their Super Bowl, their Oscars, their Christmas.
Mine is the biennial convention that Disney puts on every other year called the D23 Expo. And it's happening August 23-25, 2019. Insert that fangirl squee here!
Theresa (@gertiethedino on Twitter) is back to talk about how & why we love D23 Expo. And we'll share a few tips for you if you're trying to decide if this is your thing or not.
Spoiler: it really is for everyone and there's really no wrong way to Expo! But listen anyway because we share some super Disney nerdy moments.

It's Monday- so we're back to talk about the movies we saw. Thanks for joining the No-Guilt Monday Movie Minute for July 22, 2019. And as always: what happened at the box office.
This week we're talking Avengers: Endgame beating Avatar, why Avatar is a bad movie- and I stand by the fact that The Lion King is a better movie, Comic-Con trailers including Top Gun Maverick, IT Chapter 2, Cats & Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

Nothing gets a fangirl excited than hearing about their favorite fandom's plans for the future. And the Marvel Panel at San Diego Comic-Con came THROUGH.
Tonight was all kinds of exciting over here.
First- news came out about a certain box office milestone I've been totally obsessing over. AAAHHHH! That's right. IT HAPPENED.
And second- Kevin Feige announced Phase 4 of the MCU, taking us through 2020/2021.
I see a few holes in the slate, so maybe some were being held back for D23 Expo in August? We shall see!

The Lion King opens tonight in theaters nationwide and is expected to grab a big part of the box office this weekend. It Just Can't-Wait To Be King--- of the box office. See what I did there?
I sat down for an interview with the young stars of the movie, Shahadi Wright Joseph and JD McCrary, during their Washington, DC press stop.
We talked a little Disney, what it's like to be part of the cast, and how many times they got to meet Beyonce (because, duh!).
But my favorite part of the interview is when they talked about their dream roles someday. These kids aren't afraid to put goals out into the universe!
You can find more from both of these artists through their music:
Shine, Keep in Touch, and My Name from JD McCrary
and
Skin I'm In from Shahadi Wright Joseph

Is Stuber worth the ride? Does the Neverending Story still suck? And about the botoxed Lion King...
Plus: someone bring The Farewell to more than 4 theaters, please!

BE PREPARED!
The Lion King Full Review is HERE.
Today I'm giving my first reaction to The Lion King 2019 and giving a parent movie review on this one. Did we need this movie? It's a no from me, warthog. But it's not the worst thing Disney has ever done so you're probably going to want to see it. But know a few things before you take the sensitive kiddos out there.

I don't follow wrestling... anymore. But I did long, long ago in a childhood far, far away.
April, however, still fangirls the sports entertainment genre hard. She's on today to set the record straight: real or fake? And explain what it's like to be a fangirl in a male-dominated arena.
Her top three reasons why it's cool to be a wrestling fangirl are spot on!
Find April on Twitter @aprilandpj and @wheretonextapril on Instagram. She's basically there every Monday night for RAW.

This was a light movie week, mostly because I was at home binge-watching and obsessing over Stranger Things. You know, the show I was totally NOT into? Ha!
All that TV time meant little movie theater time. But I managed to get out to see Spider-Man (twice!) and have my parent movie review for you.
Topics this week:
If you need to bone up on your Marvel Movie Marathon before you watch Spider-Man, this summer is as good a time as any to do it!
