Faith doesn’t always begin with one huge moment. Sometimes it’s built through the people God places around us, the questions we’re willing to ask, and the moments when He reminds us that He’s been there all along.

For CBC Student Edition Vol. 2, recent graduates Adan Castro and Hudson Kyle sit down to share the stories behind their faith and how their years at CBC Students helped shape the young men they are becoming. Returning guest Jackson Kyle joins David as co-host for a conversation filled with faith, memories, and plenty of laughter.

Adan shares how his relationship with God began becoming his own and how finding a community of people who genuinely wanted to follow Jesus changed him. From CBC Students to starting a Bible study at his school, his story is one of learning to trust where God is leading—even when he can’t see every step ahead.

Hudson grew up around church and knew about Jesus, but his faith became personal during an unexpected moment before a school concert. Surrounded by Bibles inside the church where his school was meeting, he decided to open one and landed on Luke 12:22. For someone who had spent so much time worrying and overthinking, those words hit differently. It was a moment that reminded him that God sees him, hears him, loves him, and is still looking out for him.

But this episode tells another story without really trying to.

Listen long enough and you’ll hear it in the laughter, the roasting, the interruptions, the old memories and the comfort they have with one another. Years spent together through CBC Students, camp, serving and life have created a bond between David, Jackson, Adan and Hudson that feels less like four people recording a podcast and more like brothers who happened to turn the microphones on.

Now Adan and Hudson are stepping out of high school and into college, carrying with them the friendships, lessons and faith that helped get them here. They don’t have every answer or know exactly where life will take them—and that’s part of the story.

Cooper shares what it was like growing up in an atheist family, navigating family struggles, and slowly becoming open to the possibility that there was something bigger than himself. That journey eventually led Cooper and his mom to Community Bible Church, where everything began to change. Cooper gave his life to Jesus, began discovering what it actually meant to walk out his faith, and eventually made the decision to be baptized—alongside his mom. 🙌🌊

Now, just a few years later, Cooper is studying religion at Baylor, building a Christ-centered community in college, sharing the love of Jesus with believers and nonbelievers alike, and spending his summer serving the next generation through a CBC Students internship. What once felt like a disadvantage—not growing up in church—has become an important part of his testimony and his desire to reach people who don't yet know Jesus.

Today, Val serves in ministry at CBC and is part of the MTI program, where she continues to grow in her calling to serve and lead others. Her story is a powerful reminder that God wastes nothing — even the pain, the betrayal, and the darkest seasons can be used to shape a greater purpose.
