I pray that your participation in the faith may become effective through knowing every good thing that is in us for the glory of Christ.  Philemon 1:6 CSB Why has Christianity become a frustration for many? It’s because of the lack of understanding. There are many Christians and churches still practicing the Old Testament faith and don’t even understand that they are in error. Its sad but it is true. The fact that you believe in Jesus doesn’t necessary mean that you are living out the Gospel.Due to the ignorance even faith has become a struggle for them. You see some trying to squeeze out faith so to bring a change in the circumstances of life. Why should faith become a work, a struggle when Christianity is referred to as the rest? They go to the mountains and their supposed hiding places fasting and crying for more power, more anointing. What is their Problem? The problem is the lack of understanding. They have not understood the Christian faith. He says,“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding...Proverbs 4:7KJV”He instructs His Children to get understanding. One can only get this through a walk with the Holy Ghost. Every Christian has been ordained to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of God.Understand this Child of God; Christianity is referred to as “the faith”. It is a definite type of faith. Till you understand what this definite faith is about, you will live a life of frustration and struggles when you are not supposed to. You will be defeated in life and one day be told by Jesus that you were not supposed to.The Bible says,“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place....2 Corinthians 2:14KJV”Why do you sometimes then get defeated?When Paul was finished with his ministry on earth, this is what he wrote to Timothy.“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith...2 Timothy 4:7-8KJV”.He talks about a definite type of faith. It’s a special kind of faith. Again, He writes to the Roman Christians saying “Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.....Romans 14:KJV”. He again here talks about a definite faith but then let you know that there are some of the brethren who are weak in it. Such people are ineffective and unproductive in the faith. The reason is their lack of accurate understanding of the Gospel.As far as churches pray for God to send them power from Heaven, as far as they pray for God to send them more anointing, they lack an accurate understanding of the Gospel and hence weak in the faith. It doesn’t matter that individual operating in Gifts of the Spirit, he is weak in the faith. He has not understood the Gospel of the faith.What is this “the faith”? Let Paul answer it for you“ I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me...Galatians 2:20KJV”This “the faith” is based on an exchange of your life for the life of Christ. An exchange for His anointing, His power and all His attributes. You already have the anointing of Christ abiding in you. There cant be anything better than that. This is what John was talking about when he said,"But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him....1 John 2:27KJV”Paul wrote to Philemon showing him how to make his participation in “the faith” work. He says, “is by knowing every good thing that is in us for the glory of Christ”. He didn’t point to what is in Heaven but what is in you already. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him Acts 10:38 KJV To challenge the Word of God is to challenge God and only a fool calls God a liar. The reason why some Christians die from sickness and diseases is their foolishness. Though this is not the cause in every situation. When the Word of God says something, you just obey. Wisdom says, “For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them; But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil...Proverbs 1:32-33KJV”He didn’t say, they would dwell in safety because they go to church. “He will dwell safely and will be secure, without fear of evil because he listens to me sayeth the Lord”. No matter the biology or medicine we may have been taught and had studied, when Jehovah speaks we bow. Medicine is a fallen man teaching another fallen man what he has discovered but no medical school can teach you the spirit behind the sickness.In Peter summarizing to Cornelius what Jesus came to do, said The Bible says,“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” Peter here says that all those people healed by the Lord Jesus were oppressed by the devil. Thus, sickness is an oppression of the devil.“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned...1 Corinthians 2:14KJV”. Yes! They are spiritually investigated.One time, Jesus went to the house of Peter and found his mother-in-law sick of fever. The Bible says that, Jesus commanded the fever to leave her. What did Jesus know that the ordinary man didn’t know?“ And He arose out of the synagogue and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever, and they besought Him for her. And He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. And immediately she arose and ministered unto them..... Luke 4:38-39KJV”Rebuked the fever? Jesus commanded the fever to leave. He talked to fever as if He was talking to a person.Another time, the Bible referred to sickness as “Spirit of infirmity”. Spirit of sickness? There is a caveat to this and that is, this doesn’t mean that a spirit possesses every sick person. NO! It means that there is a spirit behind sickness. It doesn’t make sense to the carnally minded person but it is true. Sickness is an oppression of the devil, either directly or indirectly. For you the Christian, you have been released from his authority and hence should stand against sickness. Now that there is this corona viral epidemic, there are many Christians who are living in fear. You shouldn’t be. All you need is a renewal of mind to see sickness for what it really is, then exercise your authority in Jesus Name.You can and should be at peace. All you need is the right knowledge and understanding. He says,“Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee....Psalm 91:5-7KJV”.
