On this unforgettable episode, international bestselling author and podcaster Andrew Klavan joins Ginny Yurich to reflect on the surprising ways imagination shapes who we are. From stick duels in the woods to secret readings of the New Testament, Klavan’s childhood was filled with the kind of quiet, reflective space that allowed his creativity—and ultimately his faith—to grow. He explains how the loss of that space in modern childhood is costing us more than we realize, and how imagination isn’t just for play—it’s a moral and spiritual training ground.
Together, they explore how beauty can rise out of darkness, how stories point us toward truth, and why the smallest unseen kindness might just echo into eternity. Whether discussing murder mysteries, motherhood, or the role of art in shaping the soul, Klavan brings deep wisdom, wit, and clarity to the conversation. This episode is a rich reminder that imagination is not a luxury—it’s a lifeline.

In this episode, I sit down with good friend Judith to talk about what it looks like to turn compassion into action. Judith, along with her partner in crime, saw a need in their local community—families raising children with additional needs were craving connection, understanding, and a space that truly worked for everyone in the family. And so, Our Space was born.
Our Space is a monthly meet-up designed specifically for families with additional needs. It’s sensory-friendly, welcoming, and built by people who get it. From the moment families walk through the door, there’s no pressure to mask, no need to explain—it’s just a space where you can show up as you are.
In our conversation, Judith shares how the idea came to life, what it’s meant for the families who attend, and why creating inclusive spaces can have such a lasting ripple effect—not just for kids, but for parents, siblings, and the wider community.
We talk about the importance of peer support, the power of showing up consistently, and what it takes to build something that meets people where they’re at.
Whether you're a parent raising a child with additional needs, someone who’s been searching for community, or maybe even thinking about starting something similar in your area—this episode will leave you encouraged and inspired.
There’s so much goodness in this conversation, and I hope it reminds you that even small, simple ideas can grow into something beautiful when they’re rooted in care.

What if fear isn’t a warning sign—but a signal you’re stepping into something that matters?
I’m joined by the brilliant and creative Mary Marantz to explore why fear often shows up right before a breakthrough—and how to stop seeing it as a reason to back down.
We also get into:
* How fear hides behind perfectionism, people-pleasing, and procrastination
* The surprising link between fear and creativity
* Why grief is often the first step in learning to trust yourself
* What it means to become the “grown-up in the room” for your own healing
* How naming your inner critic can help disarm its power
Check out Mary’s new book Underestimated!
