In this episode, I'm in conversation with Simi Deleawe. Some might know her as a Pastor, business owner, or campus ministry founder, but I know her as my one and only sister. As we chat, Simi shares her journey of resilience, serving others, and overcoming personal struggles to stand boldly in her purpose in Christ. She opens up about dealing with people-pleasing and self-esteem issues and how she learned to live for an audience of one. Simi keeps it real about what it looks like to build for God while he's building you and the importance of allowing God to process you no matter what stage your in. Of course, Simi also gets into the nitty gritty details of how she started Haven Student Fellowship and the challenges she faced in navigating her personal journey of faith along the way. Honestly, I look up to my sister in so many ways, and she has been an incredible light on my faith journey, so it was an honor to speak with her!
In this conversation, I spoke with my friend Julia about what it means to embrace the challenges of adulting by going to God with the heart posture of a child. We discuss the growing pains of transitioning into adulthood, Julia's journey of faith, her testimony of embracing identity, and how coming to God as Abba has grounded her in ministry and in life. We dive deep into the revelation of being a child of God, the power of worshiping with a childlike heart, and practical ways to maintain intimacy with God in busy seasons.
Julia Ukattah is a worship leader and songwriter based in Dallas, Texas. Since she was 2 years old, music has been a vital part of her expression of worship to God. As a creative, her God-given purpose and mission is to invite people into the presence of God through a child-like posture of worship.

So many times when we think about giving glory to God based on our actions but We live for the Glory from the inside out, not the outside in. I cannot live for God's glory unless I am led by his Spirit and I will not follow his leading over my emotions unless I create the proper conditions for surrender in my heart. You can only look like the glory you've been dwelling in! The garden of glory is cultivated through gratitude. My soul must host glory before my actions can reflect it or I won't stay in position long enough for God to get the glory from my life. There is no glory without gratitude. lets talk about it!
