A sermon from 2018 Palm Sunday

2 Kings 5:1-17.  Unconventional. Everything we desire is based on our conventional way of thinging. When we look at things in light of WHO God is, and HOW he wants things done, it leads us to an unconventional experience. Naaman found this out. Now we will too!

Proverbs 27:17. Will you be sharpened or remain dull?

This is a follow-up sermon to one I preached in 2017. It is a testimony that I have seen unravel before my eyes. God always has the last word, no matter what kind of a mess we make of our lives, when Jesus shows up, our life is renewed!

The final installment of the sub-series on the Book of Revelation concerning the Letters to the Churches.  This morning we will look at the Door that Jesus opens that no one can close. We will also look at what God wants from the church concerning our ability to be used.

Have you ever visited a church and thought, wow these guys have it together. They have all the right programs, they have people in every capacity and everything runs so perfect. The Worship service is on point, the pastor never messes up his delivery, they have huge facilities... That isn't us. And guess what, that wasn't going on in the churches that these letters are written to in Revelation.

Last week we went through and we talked about Ephesus. The church that likely was the Mother Church from which all these others grew out of. Paul the church planter had started something years ago. He brought the truth of the Gospel to this area of the world, and as a result, generations of lives have been changed and still are today because of it. Think about that, is what you are doing and how you are living your life for God, or not, going to have generational effects on those you have never met? That is a big responsibility.
